Ruth Michaeli Finkley, 89, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 9, 1928 in Scranton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mathalida Albert Michaeli.
Ruth was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Scranton. She was employed as a payroll clerk
at Family Dress Factory in Scranton for 35 years and was later employed at Master Craft Furniture in Clarks Summit, PA until her retirement in 1992. Ruth was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the VFW Post 1599 Auxiliary, a former member of AARP and she enjoyed going to Results Fitness Center.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald R. Finkley, whom she married on July 4, 1964; her sister, Margaret Novak of Fayetteville, three nieces and three nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley and her brother, Samuel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Fr. Brian Olkowski will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 – 1:30 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church at the above address.
