The Picnic Basket

During a sale one day, I had bid on a lovely wicker picnic basket. Winnie was helping to bring things out of the house for the sale, but stayed long enough to bid on the picnic basket. I saw her but she didnt see me. As we continued to bid, she looked around to see who was going against her. Her eyes got big and she said Marian! Even the auctioneer stopped to laugh. I stopped bidding and someone else took it up a little higher but Winnie got the basket. She promised to take me on a picnic to share it. She told me afterward that she wasnt trying to tell me not to bid, she was just surprised to see me! As a new pastor, I learned a lot from Winnie and John. Blessings to all her family.
