A. Roy Brechbill

A. Roy Brechbill, 93, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday morning, November 25, 2012 at Menno Haven where he resided for the past three years. Born July 31, 1919 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Solomon Eyer and Anna Mary Baker Brechbill. Roy attended the former Portico School and was a graduate of Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL. A licensed electrician he worked early in his life for Frank B. Lesher and later retired from the former J. Schoeneman Company in Chambersburg. He was a life-long member and former Trustee at the Chambersburg Brethren In Christ Church.

Mr. Brechbill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Jane Keller Brechbill, whom he married July 16, 1949; two children, Wanita K. (Brechbill) Burkett and husband Charles of Canton, OH, and Dale A. Brechbill of Carlisle; a sister, Carrie L. Brechbill of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry A. Brechbill; and an infant sister, Gail Elizabeth Brechbill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Chambersburg Brethren In Christ Church, 465 Center Street, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Larry Locke and Rev. Kevin Witter officiating. Interment will follow at Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Tide Broadcasting Association, PO Box 399 or to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2011 Scotland Avenue, both in Chambersburg, PA 17201.
