Agnes Reed

Agnes “Mae” Thomas Reed, age 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Born February 28, 1932, in Fayetteville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Maude Peck Thomas.
Mrs. Reed was an in home child care provider and homemaker, she also had previously worked at Knouse foods. She enjoyed children, gardening, music, and cooking.
Surviving are five children, Charles “Tim” Reed, Tina M. Lightner (husband Chris), Victoria K. Hoover, Debra E. Partin (husband Arnold P.), and Lori A. Stevens (husband Clinton), all of Chambersburg, PA; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and six siblings, Frank Thomas, Blanche Thomas, Marie Thomas, Ruth Juray, Mary McCleaf, and Gracie Heckman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Reed in 1975, son, James Michael Reed, grandson, Timothy Reed, and eleven siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. Robert S. Beall and Minister Clinton Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
