Albert G. Bumbaugh, 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 23, 1929 in Lantz, MD, he was a son of the late Crawford and Ina Pryor Bumbaugh. Albert served in the National Guard for two years. He was previously employed at the former Brake Pontiac Cadillac in Waynesboro and the former V.T. Angle and Sons in Chambersburg. He owned and operated Al’s Quality Used Cars near Chambersburg for many years. Albert was a member of St. Mary Orthodox Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and liked watching races on television and attending races in Daytona, FL. Early in his life he enjoyed league bowling and roller skating. His other hobbies included hunting and more recently, Word Search puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Irene G. Lamnatos Bumbaugh, whom he married December 26, 1993; seven children, Debbie Alleman and husband Nelson of Lula, GA, Diana Ashway and husband Lloyd of Chambersburg, Donna Breon and husband Richard of Biglerville; Sid A. Bumbaugh, Sr. and wife Tammy of Fayetteville, Lori Long and husband Alan of Chambersburg, Bill Sagonas of Chambersburg, and Diane Sagonas of Chambersburg; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Crawford, Calvin, Bud, and Glenn; five sisters, Mae, Sadie, Susan, Edna, and Ruth; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Mary Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday at the church.
