Albert A. Neidigh, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday evening, July 11, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center following a brief illness. Born January 22, 1947 in Newville, he was a son of the late Albert A., Sr. and Elmira Laye Miller Neidigh. Albert proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed for forty –two years by General Castings in Shippensburg, retiring as a Supervisor. Albert was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW. Following his retirement he spent the majority of his time working in his backyard maintaining “Albert’s National Park”. He was an avid sportsman and never missed a touchdown, hoop, or homerun that his grandsons made. He loved spending time with his dogs, Pepper and Tyler, and his grand-dogs, Lily and Moose. His family was his pride and joy and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Albert is survived by his wife, Janet L. Chestnut Neidigh, whom he married November 1, 1969; two daughters, Jamie Stoner and husband Todd of Mercersburg and Julie Neidigh of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandsons, Evan T., Owen M., and Caden J. Stoner; a sister, Janet Bittinger of Jeannette, PA; and two brothers, David Neidigh and wife Ruth Ann of Fayetteville and Donald Neidigh of Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Alan R. Wilson will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
