Alcesta May Staley, 91, of Beverly Hills, FL and formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on October 30, 2012 in the Hospice Unit of Citrus Memorial Hospital. A native of Franklin County, PA, she moved to Beverly Hills, FL 13 years ago from Chambersburg and enjoyed a 46 year career in nursing. Mrs. Staley served at the Chambersburg Hospital as a maternity nurse for many years and was a member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg and also attended Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Crystal River.
Alcesta is survived by her only child, Edward T. Staley III (wife Mary) of Beverly Hills, FL; brother, Roy Bishop of Franklin County, PA; grandchildren, Jason, Christopher and Jessica and great grandchildren, Aaron, Jessica, Zane, Zoie, Michael, Callie and Cody. She is also survived by a niece, Carlene Howard of Spring Hill and was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, the late Edward Theodore Staley Jr. on April 15, 1987; a granddaughter, Kelly Staley, and sisters, Ethel, Helen, and Mabel.
Joint Funeral services for both Alcesta and her granddaughter, Kelly Staley will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Strang’s Cemetery.
