Alexandra Marie “Sandy” Wilson, age 75, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Shook Home. Born November 17, 1938 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Edna Savord McKenzie.
A homemaker, Sandy took great pride in caring for her family and spending time with, loving, listening to and guiding her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting with water colors and created wonderful pieces that touched many hearts and grace many homes. Another joy of hers was cooking meals that brought family and friends together. Her great faith and trust in the Lord was an inspiration to all of us, right up to the moment that she went home to the Lord.
Surviving is her husband, David Wilson, whom she married on November 25, 1993; seven children, Raymond Smith (wife Pam) of Catonsville, MD, Ralph Smith (wife Louise) of Germantown, MD, Steven Smith of Knoxville, MD, Mary Reaver of North Potomac, MD, Robert Smith of New Market, MD, Laura Wallerstedt (husband Mike) of Darnestown, MD, and Jean Smith of Germantown, MD, plus four children by marriage, Kelly Garvey (husband Ted) of Pewaukee, WI, Michael Wilson (wife Anne) of Baltimore, MD, Tom Wilson (wife Teresa) of Atlanta, GA, Katie Wilson Best of Atlanta, GA; and seventeen grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1 PM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA; where Fr. John Bateman will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 7 – 9 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. Inurnment will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 1 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD, with Fr. Tony Krisak presiding; family and friends are welcome to attend.
