Alice L. Golden, age 82, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the York Hospital. Born July 2, 1934, in Big Cove Tannery, PA, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Margaret Pittman.
Mrs. Golden was a registered nurse for over 41 years, starting her career at the Fulton Co. Medical Center and retiring from the Chambersburg Hospital in 1996. Mrs. Golden volunteered much of her free time to helping others, she volunteered at the Salvation Army, the American Heart Association, where she would assist with blood pressure screenings at various pharmacies, and at her church when she was able, assisting with the making of Easter Eggs. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, PA.
She is survived by two sons, Dirk L. Golden (wife Tena) of State Line, PA and Scott A. Golden of State Line, PA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 6 siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Golden on December 31, 1979.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg PA; where Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 7 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
