Alice Hunsecker

Alice Frey Hunsecker, age 97, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, 2015 at Menno Haven. Born November 3, 1917 in Greene Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Elsie Baughman Frey. Her beloved husband Harold Hunsecker, preceded her in death on November 28, 1998.

Alice and her husband Harold owned and operated Hunsecker’s Wallpaper and Paint in McConnellsburg. She was a member of both Rock Hill Mennonite Church in McConnellsburg and Chambersburg Mennonite Church. She was very active in her church and enjoyed reading.

Alice is survived by two children, Clair E. Hunsecker (wife Jean) of Lancaster, PA and Carolyn Durst (husband Phil) of West Branch, MI; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and her son-in-law Glenn Cordell of McConnellsburg. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice is preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Cordell; and a sister Helen Frey.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at the Menno Haven Chapel, 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2011 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
