Alice Winslow Bigham Mower passed away on Thursday October 31st, 2024. The daughter of Alice Faunce Bigham and John C. Bigham of Carnegie, PA, she was predeceased by her two older brothers, John C. Bigham Jr. (Jack), and George F. Bigham. Her beloved husband, Paul F. Mower, also predeceased her in August of 2006 after 53 years of marriage and his 53-year career as a local attorney.
Alice was a graduate of Carnegie High School in 1943 and of Wilson College in 1947. Two years after her graduation she returned to Wilson College to work in the office of the Registrar and Director of Admissions for five years. Over the next five years she and Paul became the parents of three boys, Peter, Mark and Michael. Peter and wife Donna of Wilson, NC; Mark of Harrisburg passed away in 2020, and Michael of Chambersburg, grandson Zachary and wife Tiffany and their children Elijah, Ava and Genevieve of Lemoyne, PA. Alice is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews in Carnegie, PA, the Carolina's and Stephen R. Titsworth of Chambersburg. In 1976 Alice returned again to Wilson College to work part-time in the Dean's and President's offices for three years. During their long married life Alice was ready, willing and able to help Paul with secretarial duties either at home or in his law office.
