Alice M. Stepler, 94 of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, January 1st, 2023 at the Shook Home, where she had resided the last few years. Born April 29, 1928 in Perulock, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Swarner and Ella May Longacre, and widower to the late Lester L. Stepler, who passed away September 26, 2011. Mrs. Stepler worked for Letterkenny Army Depot for 35 years, in various capacities prior to her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and painting.
She is survived by her son, Sidney Stepler and wife Michele, of Chambersburg; grandson Matthew Stepler and wife Jenna of Chambersburg; and three great-grandsons, Isaac, Emmett and Archer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings; Ray Swarner, Ada Fleming and Beatrice Rosenberry.
A graveside service will be held at Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 9, 2023, where Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
