Alvin Hartman

February 1, 1930 — March 24, 2015

Alvin Richard Hartman, 85, of Taneytown, MD, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Born February 1, 1930 in Letterkenny Township, he was a son of the late Charles S.F. Hartman and Velva Kling Hartman. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Hartman is survived by his brother, Marlin Dean Hartman of Chambersburg; three nieces, Stephanie L. “Mitzi” Galford of Taneytown, MD, Brenda J. Christ of Hanover, PA, and Stacey Swierzbinski of New Windsor, MD; a nephew, Steven D. Hartman of Taylorsville, MD; four great-nieces, Holly, Nicole, Jordan and Hannalee; and three great-nephews, Paul, Jr., Devin, and Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles H. “Buzz” Hartman; a sister, Joyce Rosella Kriete; and his step-mother, Mary Carlin Neil Hartman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
