Andrew McKenzie

November 21, 1935 — July 15, 2012

Andrew McKenzie, age 76, of Fayetteville, PA; passed away in his home on Sunday, July 15, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born November 21, 1935 in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, he was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Turner) McKenzie.

After serving honorably in the Royal Army from 1953-1955, Mr. McKenzie pursued an engineering career, starting at IBM, Glasgow, Scotland. He then moved to Carrier International, where he served for 22 years, working and living in a number of places including London, UK; Syracuse, NY; and Sydney, Australia. After Carrier, Mr. McKenzie went to work at Pelco Electronics Co., Cazenovia, NY from where he retired in 2000 after 10 years of service. He enjoyed playing, watching, and coaching soccer; taking far too many strokes on the golf course to complete 18 holes; meticulously building model airplanes; and reading military history. But his greatest enjoyment by far came from making his grandchildren laugh and hearing them call him "Papa".

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Marion (Carrey) McKenzie; four children, Marion McKenzie of Manhattan, NY; Alan and Missy McKenzie of Greenwich, CT; Elizabeth and Ben Warren of San Jose, CA; and Ann and Landon Phillips of Pass Christian, MS; eight grandchildren, Riley, Harrison, Reagan, Maggie, Francie, Alex, Grier, and Bridget; and three siblings, Alastair McKenzie, Catherine Weir, and Ian McKenzie all of Scotland, UK. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Archie.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202; where Rev.
