Angela Smith

Angela M. Purvis Smith, age 71, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at The Shook Home. Born June 12, 1952, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Purvis, Jr. and Naomi Prieto Purvis.
Mrs. Smith was a 1970 graduate of CASHS. She attended Einstein Medical College and then went to work as an Emergency Room Receptionist for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Chambersburg.
Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Christopher Smith, whom she married on April 2, 1976; three children, Jordan Smith (wife Megan) of Chambersburg, PA, Tymeka Keith of GA, and Nathan Smith of Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two siblings, Carla DeJoyce of LA and Lilus Purvis of MD.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor G. Nathan Bell will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .
