Anna L. Burtman, age 83, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 in Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on September 26, 1929 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Irvin Yohe and Clara Reed Yohe. She was the widow of Franklin R. Burtman, whom she married on October 11, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2006.
Anna was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. Years ago she also worked at Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg. She was a member of Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, and she also enjoyed spending time at Roxbury Camp.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary L. Defenderfer (husband Michael) and Betty J. Short (companion Cliff Skelton), all of Chambersburg; 5 grandchildren, Micah Jones, Nathan Jones, Amy Short, Donald Jones Jr., all of Chambersburg, and Crissy Short of Johnstown; 2 brothers, Irvin “Sonny” Yohe of Newville and Chester Yohe of Shippensburg; a sister, Thelma Black of Cumberland County; and 17 great grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with Pastor Ky Searcy officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
