Anna G. Cunard, 91, formerly of 2753 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday evening, December 7, 2011 in the Shook Home. Born November 1, 1920 in Waynesboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jessie I. and Effie Reed Gunder. Anna was the office manager in the Opthalmology office of Dr.Meminger for 25 years. She was a member of Second Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by her son, Charles Crout and wife Brenda of Avon, Ohio; two step sons, Mack Cunard of Shippensburg and Jeffrey Cunard of Chambersburg, three grandchildren: Charles Crout Jr. (Jamie), Johanna Markko of Ohio, and Brian Crout of Chambersburg; six great-grandchildren: Shanya, Elizabeth, Ian, Addison, Sydney, and Landon; and her foster brother, Howard Peiffer of Las Vegas, NV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Shirley J. Crout in 1966 and her second husband, Webster H. Cunard in 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Henry Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Corps, 159 Lincoln Way West or Second Evangelical Lutheran Church, 240 East Washington Street, both in Chambersburg, PA 17201.
