Anna Furry

Anna “Grace” Furry, age 87, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 24, 1930, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret Pearl Heckman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Furry in 1997.
Grace attended Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church and was a member of the Kings Sons and Daughters Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker most of her adult life. She enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Jim T. Furry (wife Barbara) of Chambersburg, PA; three grandsons, Tim Furry (wife Corrie) of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Joshua and Josiah Furry of Fayetteville, PA; four great-grandsons, Ezekiel, Samuel, Thaddeus, and Cooper; and one sister, Carol Shank of Shippensburg, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Sam Heckman; and three sisters, Catherine Furry, Jean Strock, and Ruth Mahon.
In honoring her request, a private family graveside service will be held in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Pastor Garry Culler and Dr. Timothy Furry will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
