Anna M. Hunt, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning at her daughter’s home in Woodside, DE. Born January 5, 1934 she was a daughter of the late Harry and Maryetta Spiker Dodson. She was a 1952 graduate of the Robert P. Smith High School and was employed as a sales associate at J.C. Penney’s in Chambersburg, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg and a former member of the Chambersburg Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. She had served as a Den Mother with the Boy Scouts. She was a talented seamstress; enjoyed cooking for her family, attending church, gardening, and having lunch with her co-workers from JC Penney’s. Her husband of fifty years, Tom B. Hunt, whom she married October 23, 1953, preceded her in death on December 30, 2003.
She is survived by three children, Alan B. Hunt ( Olga Stanka) of Lafayette Hill, PA, Lori Kenton (Kevin) of Woodside, DE, and Karen Hunt of Lancaster, PA; a grandson, Kyle Kenton; two sisters, Donna Horton and Shirley Deshong; and a brother, Donald Dodson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.
A memorial service to celebrate Anna’s life will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. Neal O. Hively will officiate. Interment will be private.
