Anna Belle Statler, 84, formerly of Marion, PA, died Tuesday evening, October 29, 2013 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg. Born March 1, 1929 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Carrie Foreman. She retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, where she had been employed for many years, and then worked in the cafeteria at the Marion Elementary School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband of more than fifty years, Donald A. Statler, preceded her in death on February 7, 2007. Anna Belle had a great love for her dog, Tinker and in her younger days enjoyed trips to the beach and the family cabin.
Anna Belle is survived eight nieces and nephews, Roxann M. Glass, Robert N. Glass, Stephanie R. Glass, Todd A. Glass, Deanne Schriver, Delane Starliper, and Jeff Brookens, all of Chambersburg, and Debbie Barnhart of Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Glass and Louise Brookens; a niece, Yolonda Glass; and two nephews, Douglas Starliper and Donald Starliper.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg with Rev. Lester Swope officiating. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 Friday in the funeral home.
