Annaliese Wietry

Annaliese L. Wietry, 85, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at home. Born May 16, 1925 in Gloewen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Siegfried and Linda Schumacher Voll. She earned her Medical Technician Degree in Wurzburg, Germany. Annaliese was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and attended Mass on a daily basis. In the past she was a volunteer for the CCD program and spent endless hours sewing and embroidering linens for the Church. Annaliese enjoyed reading, crafts, cooking, baking, sewing, and finishing a countless number of both crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Her husband Charles C. Wietry preceded her in death on May 9, 1993.

Her children and family were her life. She will be missed and remembered every day. She is survived by nine children, Stanley Wietry, Maryann Wietry, Jane Wilson (Dana) all of Chambersburg, Richard Wietry (Denise) of Orrstown, Susan Wietry and Linda Jansen (Mark) of Fayetteville, Glenn Wietry of Greencastle, Loretta Wietry (Jeff Kovacs) of Shippensburg, and John Wietry (Chris) of Dillsburg; twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Derek, and Heather Wietry, James Jr. and Erin Goins, Michael and MacKenzie Kovacs, Shayna Jansen, Danah Baker, Danielle Kerr, and Jamie McCleary; two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Patrick Jansen; ten great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three nephews in Hamburg, Germany. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Karlhans Voll; a son, Michael Wietry; a granddaughter Jennifer Murdock; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wietry.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA where Father James O’Brien will officiate. Private interment in Corpus Christi Cemetery will follow the service. The family will receive friends at a reception in the Corpus Christi Parish Center immediately following the interment. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph, St. Joseph’s Convent, 1020 State St., Baden, PA 15005, or to Corpus Christi Catholic Church at the above address.
