Arlene A. Brill, 84, of Chambersburg, passed away Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, after a short illness. Born September 4, 1934 in Altenwald, she was the devoted daughter of the late Alvey D. Angle and Cora E. Shinham Angle. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard G. Brill; and her son, Alan R. Brill and wife Cheryl D. of Lititz, PA.
Arlene was a 1952 graduate of Waynesboro High School. She was employed as a secretary in the business office at the Public Opinion in Chambersburg until her retirement in the early 1990’s. She was a lifelong member of Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 20 years. Arlene enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Some of her favorite memories were of time spent with her parents in their beautiful garden.
Funeral services to celebrate Arlene’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. William B. Nienstedt will officiate. Private interment will be held in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In conjunction with her love of flowers, floral offerings are welcomed.
