Arthur Beidel

Arthur R. Beidel age 83, of Willow Hill, PA, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Born in Willow Hill, PA, he was the son of the late John A. and Sarah Wilson Beidel.
A “Jack of all Trades,” Art spent most of his working years in the Septic Business, where he also was the proprietor of Art’s Portable Toilets. Prior to being self-employed, he worked for both Penn Line company and Rosenberry Brother’s Lumber Company. He was a member of of the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owner’s Club and the Equipment Operating Engineers Union. Art served his country honorably in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are five children, Cathy Johnson (husband Willis) of Doylesburg, PA, Nancy Irvin (husband Roger) of Concord, PA, Penny Pensinger (husband Randy) of Shippensburg, PA, Art Beidel (wife Kitty) of Fannettsburg, PA, and Bobbi Jo Alleman of East Waterford, PA; six grandchildren, Resa, Rheann, and Ridge Irvin and Marshall and Nash Beidel and Shawn Alleman; two great-grandchildren, Layton and Norah McMullen; a sister, Lena Cramer; and his companion, Betty Jane Barrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Caroline G. Fleagle Beidel in 1981, a son, Ray Edgar and daughter, Wanda Jean both in infancy, granddaughter, Sabrina Lynn Beidel, and nine siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10 AM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 6-9 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will follow the service in Upper path Valley Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the James W. McCartney, Post 232, American Legion Color Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
