Arthur Kramer

Arthur C. “Art” Kramer, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 20, 2018, at his home. Born June 20, 1929, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Arthur A. and Blanche Coble Kramer.
Mr. Kramer worked 38 years for the former Chambersburg Stone Company and McCleary Oil, as a tanker truck driver. Then Art moved on to work at M&S Cycles, where he worked until age 80. A faithful servant, Art was an active member of King Street Church, organizing the offering collectors for the 8:15 AM service for 66 years, most notably, Art had 63 years perfect attendance. Over the years, Art has participated in varying capacities at church including, the church orchestra as a cellist, he was treasurer of both the Samaritan and L.R. Rife Sunday school classes. Mr. Kramer also served on the Board of Administration under Rev. Paul B. Baker. Mr. Kramer enjoyed dogs, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 67 years, Patricia “Pat” Weyer Kramer, whom he married on December 10, 1950; one daughter, Darlene Bowers of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Joyelle Browne (husband Michael) of Shippensburg, PA and Travis Bowers (wife Rachel) of Chambersburg, PA; and three great-grandchildren, Kreygan Browne and Rylee and Sofia Bowers. In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by a daughter, Deitra Kramer in 1955 at the age of 2 and son-in-law, Craig Bowers in 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Ronald Cook and Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery.
