Audrey Mickey Bolan, age 99, of Chambersburg died on January 29, 2017. Born on July 7, 1917 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Bessie Stoner Mickey. Audrey worked at Interwoven Mills as a young woman and later at Town and Country department store until her retirement. She was fiercely independent and remained in her home until the age of 96, when she moved to Providence Place in Chambersburg. She enjoyed all types of puzzles, cards, bowling, crocheting and read the Public Opinion every day.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Sondra Ankerbrand (Harry) of Bel Air, Maryland; granddaughter, Ginger Ankerbrand (Lawrence Tempchin) of Rockville, MD; grandson, Kenneth Ankerbrand (Suzanne) of Bel Air; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha and Joseph Tempchin and Krystal Ankerbrand. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph J. Bolan; three brothers, Jack, Edward and Harold Mickey; and four sisters, Mildred Smith, Blanche Gabler, Kathleen Peters and Diane Henderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Jacqueline Cook will officiate. Private interment will be held in Lincoln Cemetery. The family wishes to recognize the employees of Providence Place for the excellent care and companionship they provided.
