Audrey Towe

Audrey E. “Audie” Towe, 91, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 after a short stay at Paramount Senior Living. Born April 16, 1927 in Lake City, TN, he was a son of the late Claude and Marie Towe. His beloved wife, Lila Craig Towe, preceded him in death in 2004.

A US Navy veteran, Audie served honorably during World War II. He was employed by the Federal Government for 38 years until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed watching CNN, and playing card games, including pinochle and hearts. He also loved camping in his RV. He was a member of the Charles M. Nitterhouse, Post 1599 VFW in Chambersburg, the Burt J. Asper Post 46 in Chambersburg and the Hume McNeal Byers AmVets Post 224 in Chambersburg.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Buhrman (husband Denny) and Connie Towe, both of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Burnside of OH. In addition to his wife and parents, Audie was preceded in death by nine siblings.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2018, in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard will provide military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr. Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
