Barbara A. Birmingham Barrows, 91, formerly of Fayetteville, PA was raised to the Heavens on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from the Shook Home in Chambersburg, to spend eternity with her husband Albert.
Barbara was born January 10, 1927 in Wilkes Barre, PA; she was the second of five daughters from John Birmingham and Edna Palmer Birmingham Knickerbocker . Barbara married the love of her life Albert H. Barrows July 1, 1946 and spent the next 70 years of her life raising her seven sons and providing love, caring and compassion to all around her. Barbara was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a member of many church organizations.
She is survived by her sons, John (Barbara) of North Carolina, Alan, Jeffrey (Denise); Mark (Sherry) all of Chambersburg, Kevin of Orrtanna, David and Faith of West Virginia and James of Oklahoma; grandchildren Dr. Steven Barrows (Carley), Muncy, PA, Scott Barrows (Madelyn), Camp Hill, PA, Brian Barrows (Britanny), Frederick, MD, Benjamin Barrows (Rosslyn), of Virginia , Courtney (Ryan) Reid, of Florida, Brittany Barrows, of Maryland, Megan (Ryan) Hartman, Philadelphia, PA, Layken Barrows, Waynesboro, PA, Hunter Barrows of West Virginia, Bradley Lowe of Tennessee, Cassandra Barrows, Mifflinburg, PA plus eleven great grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Barrows, Sr., and daughter-in-law, Robin L. (Alan) Barrows. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter-in-law, she was preceded in death by her step-father Rexford Knickerbocker, four sisters, Mary (Ed) St. Clair, Theresa (Don) Bailey, Helen (Jack) Thornton, Judy (John) Baron.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Reverend Luis R. Rodriguez V.F. at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, with interment following in Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Corpus Christi Church Parish Center directly following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Barbara’s memory be made to The Shook Home, 55 S. Second St. Chambersburg, PA 17201, which provided great care during the last years of her life. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
