Barbara DePasque

Barbara J. DePasque, 86, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Monday morning, December 20, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 3, 1935 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Angelina Prete Catucci and widow to the late Matthew P. DePasque, who passed away March 1, 2008.

Coming from an Italian family deeply rooted in art, opera music and inventions, Barb carried on the tradition as a talented artist of paintings and folk art, as well as her enjoyment of opera music. Barb worked at the family business, Matty’s Chevron in Kearny, New Jersey from 1961 to 1978. She and Matthew resided in the Greenwood Hills Bible Conference and Camps for many years, after retirement and they were members of the Greenwood Hills Gospel Chapel in Fayetteville. She enjoyed taking part in ladies Bible studies and was quick to witness about the Lord. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, John (Laurie) DePasque, of Chambersburg, PA, Matthew DePasque of Harrison, NJ, and David (Kathy) DePasque of Fayetteville, PA; four grandchildren, Daniel, Ian, Ryan and Caroline DePasque; brother, Thomas Catucci of North Arlington, NJ; and her feline friend, Misty. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel DePasque; and siblings, Margaret Sinopoli, Robert “Pierre” Catucci, Carol Custode, and Jane Ann Bozell.

Private services are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Chambersburg, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. W, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
