Barbara Dixon McPeek

Barbara Ann Dixon McPeek, 83, passed away peacefully at the home of her grandson, Donnie and Erica Halbritter on Friday evening, March 9, 2018. Born January 2, 1935 in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late Fulton Hudson Dixon and Ethel Virginia Lee Dixon. She was a graduate of Anacostia High School in Washington, DC and was employed as a bank teller at various banks in the Washington area throughout her lifetime. Barbara attended Ridgely Church of the Brethren in Ridgely, MD. She enjoyed making crafts and crocheting.

Barbara is survived by three children, Dennis R. Balderson (Diana) of Hunter, ND, Paula J. Halbritter of Huntingdon, PA, and Keith W. Balderson (Nancy) of Gaithersburg, MD; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Lee Balderson, Sr. on April 30, 2016; a granddaughter Lisa Balderson; and three sisters, Doris Shaffer, Jean Judy, and Norma Roxburghe.

Graveside services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD with Pastor Fred Chapin officiating.
