Barbara J. Fickes, age 58, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Chambersburg on June 2, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Dorrine A. Monn Fickes.
Barb was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the House of Grace Sewing Club in Chambersburg. Always practicing her creativity, Barb enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, puzzles, reading, and art projects. She is fondly remembered for being helpful to anyone in need and being an animal lover.
Barb is survived by her sons, Darren Fickes (fiancé Rachael Schlager) of McConnellsburg, and Matthew Bangert of Helena, Montana; two grandchildren, Luke and Jordan; siblings Cindy Kinsey (Brad), of Chambersburg, Donna Bangert (Todd), of Chambersburg, Roberta Wenger of Chambersburg, Joseph Fickes (Cheryl), of Fayetteville, Robert Fickes, Jr. (Denise), of Shippensburg, and Dawn Crider of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Fickes, and sister Pamela Fickes.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: United Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 55 Utley Dr., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
