Barbara Fickes

Barbara K. Fickes, age 60, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Born March 26, 1958, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Max “Jim” and Retha Schellhase Goetz.
Mrs. Fickes was a 1976 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She had most recently worked in customer service at Rite Aid. An avid gardener, Barbara was well known for her beautiful flowers and gardens.
Surviving is her son, Troy Fickes (Amanda) of Fayetteville, PA; grandson, Finley Fickes; and four siblings, Kim Goetz (Kathy), Dee Wilhide (Kenneth), Jim Goetz (Rhonda), and Tim Goetz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Fickes in 2008.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, Franklin/Fulton unit, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
