Beatrice Swisher

Beatrice N. Swisher, 93, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Menno Haven. Born February 20, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter I. and Gertrude Stoner Hoover. Her beloved husband, Richard D. Swisher, preceded her in death on August 27, 2002.

Beatrice was employed as a seamstress early in her life at Interwoven for 10 years. She later worked as a seamstress at the Stanley Company and then J. Schoeneman Company for 26 years until her retirement in 1978. Beatrice was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 842 Auxilary, and the BPO Elks Lodge 600, all in Chambersburg. She loved reading and spending time with her friends.

A graveside service to honor Beatrice’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Lincoln Cemetery. Rev. Donald Nolder will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
