Beda Stouffer

Beda S. Stouffer, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born on August 20, 1928 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Emma Lehman Shatzer. Beda spent her working years as a bookkeeper for the former Dice’s Tire Shop in Chambersburg, PA. She was active in Franklin County Farm Women, as well as volunteering for Toys For Tots and St. Thomas Ruritan. Beda was a member of King Street United Brethren Church and attended Cornerstone Church of Christ later in life as well.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Stouffer; a son, Brent O. Cosey and wife Trish of Marion, PA; a daughter, Lisa C. Bontrager and husband Rick of Greencastle, PA; 4 step children, Connie Lamborn and husband Mike of Martinsburg, PA, Reed Stouffer of State College, PA, Andra Stouffer of Martinsburg, PA and Barry Stouffer of Atlanta, GA. 5 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Frank Shatzer of Chambersburg and Blaine Shatzer of Middletown, MD; and a sister, Lois June Fahnestock of Chambersburg, PA. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack L. Cosey; a son, Alan “Ben” Cosey; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. 17202. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00PM Friday, April 17, 2015 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
