Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Kauffman, Jr., 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Hershey Medical Center. Born August 22, 1936, in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Jeanetta I. Koons Kauffman. Mr. Kauffman was a 1954 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and earned an Associate Degree from Penn State University. He served honorably with the US Army Reserve. He was employed as an engineer with Westinghouse for twelve years and then went on to work for a maintenance department at Chambersburg Hospital for four years and later worked for ten years in the maintenance department at Carlisle Hospital. He was last employed as a Logistics Management Specialist at Letterkenny Army Depot prior to his retirement. He attended King Street Church.
Mr. Kauffman enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, hunting, target shooting, camping, and traveling with no planned destination. He embraced life's adventures with an open heart.
Mr. Kauffman is survived by his wife, Betty J. Stouffer Kauffman, whom he married November 21, 1959; four children, Jacqueline Garcia and husband Jose of Alabama, Craig Kauffman, Jennifer Carl, and Lisa Trimmer, all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Victor, Angelique, and David; and his three great- grandchildren, Thatcher, Nicholas, and Franklin. He is also survived one brother, Terry Kauffman and wife Dee of Dover.
