Bertha A. Kuhn, 93, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at her home. Born January 14, 1928 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Rudy A. and Fannie A. Hoover Alleman.
Bertha was a 1947 graduate of St. Thomas High School. She was employed at the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for 19 years, Tracy Fashions for 13 years and was the owner/operator of her own antique business for 40 years. She was a member of Faith Church of God Harbor Light and the St. Thomas Sportsman’s Association where she was awarded “Sportsman of the Year”. She enjoyed gardening, viewing wildlife, feeding the deer near her home and, of course, her antiques.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Slye and husband E. David of Greencastle; her grandson Jason Reichard and wife Kristi; and two great grandchildren, Owen and Weston. In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Kuhn on August 23, 2018; and two brothers, Robert H. Alleman and Paul S. Alleman.
Bertha’s funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor Andy Ficks and Pastor Jerry Timbrooke will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Church of God Harbor Light, 537 Hood Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
