Bess Archibald

Bess C. Archibald, 78, of Fayetteville, PA, died Saturday, June 9th, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Sherry (Kevin) Coffey. Born October 11, 1939, in Patterson, NJ she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Clyde Bryson.
Bess graduated from Fairlawn High School in Fairlawn, NJ. She worked for TV Guide Magazine and at John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in Laurel MD. She met her husband, Bob at Parents without Partners. One day, she was walking down the hall at JHU/APL and they passed one another, not even knowing they worked in the same facility. Bess and Bob were married October 3rd, 1987.
She enjoyed golfing in the Penn National Ladies nine-hole league, attending book club, Mahjong, exercise and yoga, playing Bridge, dancing, and golf outings in Myrtle Beach. She was a Washington Nationals fan.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; two children, William Coe, Adamstown, MD and Sherry( Kevin) Coffey, Mt Airy, MD; 3 step-children, Tim Archibald, Todd (Joanie) Archibald, and Tracy(Brian) Yaklyvich, all of Maryland; and 11 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Bess was preceded in death by five siblings, Jim, Richard, Robert, May, and Elizabeth.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Caroline Saxton will officiate. If desired memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
