Betty Jean Bishop

Betty J. “B.J” Bishop, age 65, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 15, 1958 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Helen (Gift) Pine.

A 1978 graduate of James Buchanan High School, BJ then went on to work at various places, with her longest being as a receptionist for Fairchild Aviation in Hagerstown, MD. In her younger days, she enjoyed fishing with her dad and enjoyed her time spent at the beach. She also had an unending love for her cats and dogs. She attended services at the Mount Calvary Tabernacle in Williamson.

B.J. is survived by her husband of 26 years, Daniel Brian Bishop; two children, Christopher Bowser of Shippensburg and Danielle Perkins of Carlisle; three grandchildren, Cameron West (spouse, Mickayla), Ari Bowser, and Gabrielle Perkins; aunt Catherine Helm; and uncle George Reamer. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Pine. 

A memorial service for B.J. will be held on Tuesday , August 6th, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA where Pastor Reuben Egolf will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Private inurnment will take place in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Calvary Tabernacle, 5415 Warm Spring Road, St. Thomas, PA 17252. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
