Betty L. (Clark) Carnes, 93, a resident of Quincy Village in Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 18, 2023. Born March 24, 1929 in Pueblo, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Chauncey L. and Avis Mary (Allen) Clark, and widow of the late Victor A. Carnes, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2018.
A 1948 graduate of Central High School in Pueblo, Betty went on to work in various occupations, but most importantly as homemaker for her family of four. Talented with her hands, she enjoyed crafting, quilting, and sewing, and even pieced quilts for her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifetime lover of riding horses and enjoyed traveling with her family.
Surviving are her two daughters, Vickie L. Carnes of Mont Alto, PA, and Pam Reeder and husband Tom, of Fountain Inn, SC; four grandchildren, Stacie, Christopher and Zachary Reeder, and Chelsea Raby; and 19 great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Betty will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waynesboro, 43 S Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268, where Pastor Dennis Beaver and Pastor Drahus Oslik will officiate. Private interment will be in Norland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
