Betty Crowe

Betty E. Crowe, 84 of Shippensburg, passed away at 2:43 AM Monday, June 27, 2011 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born September 15, 1926 in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Ella Hockenberry Parson. A homemaker most of her life, Betty enjoyed flowers, crocheting, boating, camping, and puzzles. Her beloved husband, Emory Crowe, preceded her in death on June 17, 1990.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Varner and husband Glenn of Carlisle and Martha Gearhart and husband Russell of Shippensburg; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Orville Parson and wife Lula of Dry Run; two sisters, Shirley Hockenberry and husband Robert of Orbisonia and Anna Mae Price and husband James of Shade Gap; and a niece whom she and her husband raised, Jeanie Hockenberry and husband Robert of Doylesburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Rev. Marlin A. Neil will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Blairs Mills, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday and 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
