Betty Deshong

Betty Jo Deshong, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday evening, January 4, 2014 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 18, 1928 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Pauline Bebee Bydalek. A homemaker most of her life, she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church; Women of the Moose #1128; and the Ladies Auxiliaries of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, all in Chambersburg. Her husband, Glenn C. Deshong, preceded her in death on January 29, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Jumper and husband Richard of Chambersburg; two sons, Ronald Deshong and wife Jennie of Newburg and Donald Deshong and wife Deborah of Greencastle; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Richard Jumper; a great-grandson, Hunter Deshong; and two brothers.

Services will be private. Interment will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
