Betty Jane (Friese) Eberly, 94, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 31, 1927 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Norman and Rebecca (Martin) Friese.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School. Betty was primarily a homemaker; however she drove a school bus for her family’s bus company. Following retirement she and her husband made crafts and would attend craft shows to sell their projects. She was a member of Mount Olivet Church, Chambersburg and the Martha Custis Chapter 342 Order of The Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, going shopping with her sister and she loved animals, especially cats.
She is survived by a daughter, Regina Neidrick and her husband Roger of Chambersburg; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Eberly of Texas; a son-in-law, Brian Engdahl of Minnesota; a daughter-in-law, Mardell Eberly, of Chambersburg and former son-in-law, Steve Brindle of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Eberly who passed away in 1989; two children, Roger Eberly and Raina Eberly-Engdahl; three sisters, Alice Shipp, Janet Lehman, and Gertrude Wingert and an infant brother.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, February 7, 2022 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Stan McCammon officiating. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM the evening of Sunday, February 6, 2022 as well as an hour prior to the service Monday morning in the funeral home.
