Betty M. Brookens Henry, 83, a resident at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday evening, September 9, 2014 at the nursing home where she resided for the past 18 months. Born January 10, 1931 in Reading, PA, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Lulu Shepherd Brookens. Mrs. Henry had worked as a seamstress at the former Tracey Fashions in Chambersburg. She was of the Protestant Faith. Her hobbies included sewing, competition archery, playing golf while living in Florida, crafts, and arranging flowers. Her husband, Harold G. Henry, preceded her in death on November 11, 1994.

She is survived by three children, Barry C. Kauffman and wife Debra of Georgia, Beverly M. Eyer and husband Rodney of Chambersburg, and Barbara A. Staub and husband Barry of York; three step-children, Jerry Henry and wife Linda, Gregory Henry, and Stephen Henry and wife Deb, all of Fayetteville; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Harold G. Henry, Jr.; six brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
