Betty Hornbaker

Betty A. Hornbaker, 81, of Chambersburg and formerly of Willow Hill, passed away Sunday evening, February 21, 2016 at the Shippensburg Health Care Center. Born April 17, 1934 in Clear Spring, MD, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Mowen Mills. A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed puzzles and playing Bingo. She had at one time attended the Mt. Green United Methodist Church. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to her flower gardens. Her husband, Jacob E. Hornbaker, preceded her in death on March 29, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Marquez and husband David of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Desirae Stull, Faith Marquez, and Lori Dent; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gene Mills and wife Ruth of Sharpsburg, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jacob E. Hornbaker, Jr., and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. Interment will follow at Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
