Betty McClure

Betty Jane McClure, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on February 14, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hosptial. Born April 29, 1936 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Mary C. Keifer Helman. He beloved husband, Thomas R. McClure, preceded her in death on June 9, 2022.

Betty attended the former Chambersburg High School (Central). She was employed as a nurse at the Chambersburg Hospital for 33 years until her retirement. Betty and her husband had attended the former Chambersburg First Church of God. She enjoyed crocheting, needle point, reading and flower gardening. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Ron McClure Frederick, MD, and Kevin McClure and wife Bonnie of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Jamie Martin (Russell), Timothy McClure (Bobbi), Abigail McClure and Gabriel McClure; five great grandchildren, Kara, Hailey, Kamryn, Kye and Wyatt; and two siblings, Doris Gayman and Lonnie Helman, both of Chambersburg. Aside from her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly McClure; seven siblings, Charles, Carrie, Mary, Eva, Dorothy, Kenneth, and Roy.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
