Betty A. Martin Morrison, 76, of Chambersburg, PA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Born February 12, 1942 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Shew Martin. Betty was a 1960 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and was employed for more than twenty years at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She worked as a bookkeeper at her family’s business, Martin’s Refrigeration, and then later at Camp Joy-El. She was a member of New Guilford Brethren In Christ Church where she had previously served as a Sunday school and nursery church teacher. An avid golfer, she enjoyed playing in several leagues at the South Mountain golf course. She will be remembered by many for her giving heart and her outgoing personality. She enjoyed walking with her group of ladies at Norlo park, spending time with children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, vegetable and flower gardening, and helping others in any manner that she could. She also enjoyed time spent with friends in Florida, especially the Pennsylvania group that gathered on Wednesday mornings for breakfast.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Morrison, whom she married June 18, 1994; her daughter, Debbie Weyant and husband Jack of Shippensburg; her granddaughter, Betsy Searcy and husband Bryce of Chambersburg; two step-grandchildren, Jessica Huber and husband Josh of Orrstown and Cory Weyant of Columbus, OH; three step great-grandchildren, Lily, Zoey, and Lila; her brother, John Martin and wife Miriam of Fayetteville; her sister, Mary Moats and husband Raymond of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Glenn Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2018 at New Guilford Brethren In Christ Church, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Lawton Jacobs will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
