Betty L. Ryder Sanders, 76, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 3, 2016 at her home. Born January 9, 1942 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Lyle and Faye Highland Ryder. Betty was a 1959 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She enjoyed cooking, reading books, and working puzzles. Her husband, Francis C. Sanders, whom she married September 20, 1986, preceded her in death on August 4, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters, Barb Oster and husband David of Minneapolis, MN and Lisa Eckenrode of Shippensburg; two step-children, Michael Sanders and Barbara Sanders, both of Chambersburg; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Eugene, Fred, Gerald, and David Ryder; and two sisters, Arlene Hench and Deborah Elam. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a step-son, Douglas Sanders.
Services and interment will be private.
