Betty Shore

Betty Mellott Shore, 91, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Portland, OR, passed away Wednesday morning, June 15, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 12, 1925 in Hustontown, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Roxie Cutchall Mellott. She was employed for many years at Frederick and Nelson in Portland. Mrs. Shore enjoyed attending Desinty Church in Chambersburg. While residing in Portland, she was active with Living Water Church of God. Her hobbies included hunting, fishing, and crocheting. Her husband, John Ellsworth Shore, preceded her in death on April 24, 2012.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Peak of Chambersburg; her son Glen Shore of Welton, AZ; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Wincer and Anna Woods; and her brother, Pete Mellott.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Bishop Greg Meyers will officiate. Interment will be at 9:00 AM Wednesday in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
