Betty Brohm Smith went peacefully to be with her Savior and Lord on December 2, 2021. Married to Kenneth W. Smith, who predeceased her in 1981, she leaves a stepson, Barry H. Smith, (wife Carley) of New York City and Scarborough, ME; two step-grandchildren, Christopher (wife Anne) and Sara (husband Michael); and three step-great-grandchildren (Alden, Eugenia, and Lila), residing in Maine. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Mabel Brohm (husband Neil deceased), in Arizona; one niece; and three living nephews, including William Neil Brohm of New Jersey.
Betty was born in East Orange, NJ in 1930 to the late Frank C. and Elsie (Ibbotson) Brohm. She retired from Exxon Co. in 1986; and moved from the Boston area in 1993 to Fayetteville/Chambersburg, PA, where, with a special love for the mountains of western PA, she has since lived. This included more than twenty years at Menno Haven. She attended and deeply loved the Greenwood Hills Bible Chapel and its steadfast testimony to Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Chapel of Menno Haven. Arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to Greenwood Hills Bible Conference Association, 7062 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, PA 17222, or the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, c/o Menno Haven Retirement Communities, 300 Ridgeview, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
