Beverly J. Minnich, 91, of Chambersburg, went to heaven on Saturday, May 09, 2015, at Menno Haven Nursing Center. Born on March 4, 1924, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Juell and Grace Shoop Jones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Robert C. Minnich, on June 24, 2002. A 1943 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, she worked at Letterkenny Army Depot and for Dr. Martin Greenberg. She spent much of her life as a homemaker, but later in life worked as a medical assistant and receptionist for Dr. Felix Feamster as well as part time in retail.
Beverly was a lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church and participated in Semper Fidelis Sunday School Class. She truly loved The Lord. Beverly was an inspiration and always put others first. She was also a member of NARFE, Burt J. Asper Post #46 American Legion Ladies’ Auxillary and Charles Nitterouse V.F.W. Post 1599 Ladies’ Auxillary.
Beverly is survived by a daughter, Brenda M. Black, and her husband William, of Chambersburg; two granddaughters, Laura Black of Washington, D.C., and Lynn Black of Richmond, VA; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Decker, of Richmond, VA ; and two nephews, Thomas and Michael Jones. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Jones, and two sisters, Lucille Jones West and Margaret Jane Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 11:00AM at Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg. Rev. Scott Bowerman will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg .
