Billy L. Fix, Sr., Age 79, of Blairs Mills, PA; passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA. Born October 31, 1931 in Cove Gap, PA, he was the son of the late Bruce and Gladys Fix.
A US Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, Billy served his country honorably; after completion of his military service, Billy continued serving his country at Letterkenny Army Depot for a total of 42 years, where he retired in 1989. Billy was a member of the Lions Club, and Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping, going out with the boy scouts, foods, and motorcycle rides.
Surviving are his children, Timothy Fix (wife Cynthia) of Fannettsburg; Julianne Umbrell (husband Kirk) of Fannettsburg; and Billy Fix, Jr. of Stroudsburg, PA; his grandchildren, Nikki Burdge (husband Mark); Brandy McClure (husband Chad); Stacy Wolf (husband Steve); Keri Daniel (husband Cole); Tiffany Fix; Jessica and Cody Crouse; and Jessica Jones; and Joel Umbrell; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maysie Miller of St. Thomas, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Fix in August 28, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11 AM at the Nossville United Methodist Church, RD 1, Van Buren Rd., Blairs Mills, PA 17213; where Rev. Dale Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 7-9 PM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service in Nossville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the church and address above.
